What is AYSO EXTRA?
AYSO EXTRA is a program established by AYSO for children who possess the appropriate desire, ability, and skill and want to play soccer at a more competitive level. AYSO EXTRA is an attractive alternative to club soccer programs as it is often less expensive and maintains AYSO core principles including a minimum 50% play rule and positive coaching. What is AYSO ALLIANCE?
AYSO ALLIANCE is a new part of the AYSO Player Development Pathway. ALLIANCE is a tryout-based program for players who want to play in external competitive gaming circuits (Club soccer) as members of both AYSO and US Youth Soccer or US Club Soccer. The purpose of the AYSO ALLIANCE program is to support the AYSO player development pathway to the highest levels of play. It is an intergral part of the AYSO Club program and potential progression to AYSO United.

Clarification:
EXTRA and ALLIANCE teams will be very similar:

• They will both be AYSO competitive teams formed after tryouts.
• They will both be managed by Region 10 and coached by volunteer coaches from Region 10.
• The will both embody the AYSO 6 Philosophies.
• The overall costs to play in ALLIANCE will be slightly higher than EXTRA but not significantly so.
• The main difference is that EXTRA teams will compete in the EXTRA League (run by AYSO) against other EXTRA teams, whereas ALLIANCE teams will compete in a Club league (CSL) against non-AYSO club soccer teams.

PV AYSO - EXTRA and ALLIANCE Tryout Dates and Information

2025 EXTRA and ALLIANCE open tryouts will be conducted at Ridgecrest Intermediate School per the schedule listed below. For your child to participate, you must bring water, cleats, and shin guards (covered with socks) to the tryout. Prospective players may only attend one of the tryout sessions listed below for his/her age group.

Tryouts for Fall 2025 will be hosted on Sunday, March 2nd and Wednesday March 5th Sunday March 9th, 2025 at Ridgecrest Intermediate School (28915 Northbay Rd., Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275). For more information on specific divisions and tryout dates and times, please refer to the table below (keep an eye on this page as times may change based on availability).

NOTE: Registration for the 2025 Fall AYSO program will be open shortly.

1. Walk-ins and in-person registration will NOT be accepted at EXTRA and ALLIANCE tryouts.
2. The brief EXTRA/ALLIANCE Tryout Form must be completed prior to February 13, 2025. This EXTRA/ALLIANCE Tryout Form must be completed for each child trying out for EXTRA or ALLIANCE at one of the tryout dates listed below.

Note: Some divisions listed above may not field teams unless coaches volunteer to lead the team(s). If you are interested in volunteering to coach a team, please email tolivia@gmail.com, and fill in the coach application in this link.

REMINDER: All players interested in trying out for PV AYSO EXTRA or ALLIANCE teams must complete the EXTRA/ALLIANCE Tryout Form to participate in the tryout.
